Suggest Treatment For Gout
Question: I get gout now and then (for a couple of days). I now have a case of it that has lasted 2.5 weeks and doesnt seem to be improving. My doctore prescribed colchicnine, which has worked in the past, but not this time. What else should I try. What can I take for the pain along side it (Motrin ?)
Brief Answer:
Start ICE compression and MOTRIN
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If the attack is not subsided in 2 weeks it requires additional pain medication. Ice compression, elevating the painful joint and MOTRIN 400mg would definitely add to the anti inflammation property.
Generally we do not for so long we give corticosteroid shots for quick response. So if the above suggestion does not help you can see your doctor for corticosteroid prescription.
