Brief Answer:
Important is to diagnose first with dietary and life style modification.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your mother's problems carefully and understood your concerns.

She is having gas trouble, stomach pain with dyspepsia can be called as stomach bloating.

I usually advise my patients to do regular check ups to rule out organic problems that might be causing bloating feeling like gastritis, erophagia, irritable bowel syndrome, food poisoning, peptic ulcer, bowel obstruction or rarely crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.

If nothing organic underlying cause is diagnosed, I usually prescribe to take simethicone to reduce bloating or ease the uncomfortable feeling.

Moreover, I also highly advise to: -

1) eat often, small portions and slowly, -
2) do not use straw when drinking -
3) avoid carbonated drinks/fatty foods -
4) avoid chewing gums or candies to prevent too much air forming inside your intestines, especially in the afternoon or at dinner.
5) Sedentary life will also aggravate feeling bloating; so, I highly recommend to get physically involved.
6) Controlling stress is also crucial to improve your IBS symptoms.

She should undergo certain blood investigations with urine and stool examination for R/M and ova or ultrasound of abdomen or upper GI scopy if required.

Treatment is mainly depend on the underlying cause but symptomatic treatment can be given.

She may require antibiotics (quinolones, antiprotozoals or amoxycillin derivatives)and anti helminthic (albendazole) with proton pump inhibitors and prebiotics and probiotics.

She must consult your gastroenterologist for detailed medical history and thoroughly clinical examination and get it diagnosed first.
