Brief Answer:
Souce of blood must be found out.Leaking is mostly due to prostate gland.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can fully understand your concern.
Blood in urine is abnormal. It's source and cause must be found out, so we can treat it and prevent further bleeding.
Leaking before reaching the bathroom suggests, he's likely to have an enlarged prostate, with a possible UTI(urinary infection).
He'll need to get examined by an Urologist, who'll perform a rectal examination.
Certain tests needed are urine routine and culture, blood creatinine, sugar, PSA, and an ultrasound scan of the abdomen.
With these reports, a diagnosis can be arrived at, and treatment advised.

Brief Answer:
Good that proper treatment's started.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
It's good to know, that he's started treatment for prostate enlargement(FLOMAX), and urinary infection( CIPRO).
However, his ultrasound scan must be done, to confirm, there's no other cause for the blood in urine.
A PSA test also, is recommended.
He should maintain 8-10 glasses liquids daily.
Wishing both of you well.
