Brief Answer:
Good nutrition and adequate hydration essential

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. It appears to be viral fever as it is also associated with joint pains.
2. Fever of 102' requires paracetamol for control. It can be used 3-4 times daily.
3. Adequate hydration (at least 6-8 liters water) and good nutrition with protein rich diet essential. If not solid, at least via fruit juices. Calories are important to improve strength and immunity.
4. If the fever is not under control or if you do not want to take in food and will require glucose infusion to maintain strength, then you would need to meet doctor.

Remember good diet and hydration. Any food, but necessary to improve diet.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.

Follow up question. Could my daily injections of Forteo be causing joint/bone aching and lack of energy? I've been taking it for 2 months and still have irritation at the site of injection each day.

Brief Answer:
Check serum calcium levels.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again.

Irritation at site of injection due to Forteo is commonly seen.

However, joint pains or bone pains or lack of energy could be due to calcium imbalance. Check serum calcium levels. Increased calcium levels can cause muscle weakness. Low calcium levels can cause bone pains.

However, since you are recovering from fever, weakness is common due to reduced nutrition. Take good nutrition and hydration. Also try mild exercises like walking, with support, if necessary.

Get serum calcium levels tested to rule out calcium as the cause.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
