Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Most coughs and colds are due to viral infections and resolve in 1 to 2 weeks.

Paracetamol or ibuprofen can be used to help with the fever. Use cool/cold liquids, take tepid water baths and fan therapy to also try and reduce your temperature.
Dress cooling, the temptation is to bundle up when experiencing chills but this would make it worse.

If the cough is wet then you would need to use a mucolytic to help break up the mucus so that it can be easily expelled. A mucolytic would also help to break up any mucus in the nasal passages.
Eg bisolvan, mucomyst, guaifenesin

If the cough is dry, then you can use a cough suppressant such as dextromethorphan. This is the most commonly used cough suppressant and would be present in most over the counter cough and cold meds.
Nasal congestion would be treated with a decongestant which would also be over the counter.

Rest is also very important
