Suggest Treatment For Fever And Cold While On Ibuprofen
Question: Dear Doctor,
My boy is 32 months old . He was well , normal and active today . I brought him out for dinner and he was having lotsa fun singing etc . Out of sudden he said his hands were cold . He was still normal . After about 15 mins . I realised he is having fever and immediately , he became lerthagic and not his usual self . He became quiet all sudden and was trembling when I put him in the baby chair . His lips then turned purple and became very pale and listless .as I rushed to my car, he kept yawning ( my general knowledge is the lack of ocygen) he doesn't respond very well when I speak to him . He fell asleep in the car and the purple went away.He woke up halfway and vomited once ( vomit was watery and clear with some food he had in the day)
May I know wha causes the sudden onset of fever ? He was well and ok n jux within a short time this happen?
Is that a seizure ? Why did he turn purple ? Is he not breathing well ?
We went home , fed him a small amount of formula , gave him some ibuprofen and he fell asleep.
Please tell me what is the cause and I would certainly bring him to the PD very soon

I need to ask some questions
Two days ago , my boy 32 months old suddenly got a spike in temperature . He was totally well and fine and was his normal playful self. We were out on the way to dinner when he suddenly told me his hands were cold . I touched I thought it was jux a colder day as it was drizzling. He was still singing in the car . 10 mins later , he started to feel warmer on his head . When I sat him down, he was shivering and his face turn purple . I tried to talk to him and he began to feel sluggish and answered me as if he is choking . My instinct is that he is not getting enough oxygen n I rush him to AE.
As we were on our way , he felt asleep in the car . Woke up 15 min later and vomited liquid . Face Color and breathing was normal and we went home . The next morning he was rubbing his left eye and some mins later , the left eyelid and surround become red swollen and puffy . Soon , the same goes for the other eye.
I went to the PD the next day and after examination, the PD said that he is likely to have a viral fever . Only paracetamol was given and monitoring for few days .
His fever subsided and the swelling eyes went away the following day . Slight fever came currently .I'm very concerned about this whole episode and I need an opinion and understand more .
1. how can a temperature spike up so fast ?
2. Why and how can his face turn blue ?
3. Why is it that he was struggling to talk when that happen? Like his choking ?
4. Why did he vomited soon after ?
5. The swollen puffy eyes had anything to do with the viral infection? If yes how ?
This whole episode started and I still calm my nerves till now . He had got fever at 39 degree celcius but never experience what happened 2 days ago . He was still talking at play at 39 degree celcius .
Please assist to explain in details as I really need to know the possible details
