Question: Hi, I have eczema on my fingers and eyelids. How can I treat this?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have read your question and I have noted yoyr concern.

I suggest you to use a moisturiser for both face and hands, twice or thrice daily.
Specifically for patches of eczema, you may use a moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream Or mometasone furoate 0.1% cream, twice daily, on hands.
On eyelids you may use cortisone cream, twice daily.
I would also suggest a tablet of cetrizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.

Thank you for your reply. Are the creams and tablet you mentioned available over the counter, or do I need a prescription? Also, is it safe to use the cortisone on my eyelids?

Tramcinolone acetonide is not otc and neither is mometasone furoate. You need to procure a prescription for it.
You need to check from a local drug store, if any of these is available otc...Tramcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream, Mometasone furoate 0.1% cream Or Betamethasone valerate 0.05% cream. If not available, you would need a prescription for these from your local doctor.
You can safely use cortisone on eyelids. It is the safest and mildest of steroids.
