default
Posted on Fri, 8 Sep 2017
Question: I have been sick for 4 days now. Symptoms for first day was diarrhea/nausea and severe head, neck, and eye pain, and low grade fever. Ever since, I have been very fatigued, moderate to severe join/body pain(especially in my hips, knees, neck, shoulders, and ribs), difficulty sitting, standing, or even finding a comfortable position to lie down in due to pain. I get some relief with motrin. My appetite is poor and i'm not that thirsty. No cough or sore throat. I am a working nurse and I am too fatigued to work. Also still getting a low grade fever off and on of around 100.

I forgot to mention, i have swollen and tender lymph nodes in groin area

Brief Answer:
Acute abdominal infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear patient,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
Have gone through your details and i appreciate your concerns.

Your symptoms refer mostly to an acute gastroenteritis (infection of bowels). - For the time being, I'd suggest to drink more water, take, probiotics to stop diarrhea and oral rehydration salts (O.R.S) for dehydration as body will get rehydrated faigue and letharge etc would be relieved. Fever is suggestive of ongoing infection.Swollen and tender lymph nodes are also suggestive of ongoing infection in body.

If your diarrhea and pain do not have any improvement within a couple of days, then, should go for some more investigations to identify the real culprit. I'd suggest, then, to do an abdominal ultrasound, fecal examination for ova/parasites, feces occult blood, leucocytes in feces, and complete blood profile.

Hope it answered to your question!
Warm regards!
