Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation Around Penis After Urination

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Feb 2016
Question: Dr, For the last one month I am facing burning sensation around the penis gland which starts 1 min after urination and stays for 10minutes.. This happens almost everyday but in the evening onwards. (morning to afternoon no issues). I have reduced spice/chilli in the food also but no improvement. As per general physician, I have done Urine routine and culture test but the results are all 100% normal. There is no visible skin color change in that area. What could be the reason and please advice on next step? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
inflammation within urinary tract is possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i can fully understand and share your concern.
This's a fairly common symptom in several people.
You certainly don't have an urinary infection,as urine culture is normal.
Continue with the citralka syrup, twice or even thrice daily.
Many find quicker relief, taking it mixed in lime juice.
Drink 10-12 glasses fluids daily.
Maintain good penile hygiene.
As you're having symptoms for over a month, you may reply to some questions :
1. Have you had intercourse with more than one partner.
2. If yes,was it unprotected sex.
3. Have you had t.b. in past.
4. If you did have t.b., how long did you take the medical treatment.
Kindly get examined by an Urologist and carry out the following tests :
1. blood routine, sugar,creatinine, VDRL,and HIV.
2. ultrasound scan of abdomen.
After the reports are seen by Urologist,he'll decide further treatment, which may also require a cystoscopy test ,
if your reports are suggestive of,an inflammation called urethritis, or cystitis.
Till reports are ready, you may start Tablet Ciprofoxacin twice daily.
You're welcome to send the reports here for an expert opinion.
Wish you well.

Thanks Doctor for detailed response. No intercourse apart from my spouse...also no history of T.B. So I will continue Citralka for few days and if the problem still exist then I will meet Urologist for further investigation. You want me to take Ciprofoxacin as well or just Citralka? Thanks.
