Brief Answer:
Atraumatic shoulder instability needs muscle strengthening by exercises

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

Is this problem in one or both shoulders ?

Have you sustained any trauma to the shoulder ?

Do you do repeated throwing activties using your arm frequently ?

According to the history you have provided, you seem to be having a condition called Atraumatic shoulder instability.

This occurs due to microtrauma to the shoulder due to repeated loading by the shoulder in frequent throwing activities seen commonly in athletes.

In time, you tend to become aware that your shoulder is unstable and can feel the same on trying to move around the shoulder or any forceful activities like coughing, pushing or pulling.

Generally I would advise my patients to strengthen their shoulder muscles so that the shoulder joint becomes stable. You must strengthen each of the major muscles assisting in shoulder movements.

Stand near the doorway and flex your elbow to 90 degrees and push your forearm outwards against the open doorway which offers resistance. Perform the same but with the forearm pushing onwards against resistance is the open doorway. Also keep the back of your elbows against a wall and try to push backwards in the same position as mentioned above and also trying to push up the forearm against resistance. Perform these exercises around 10 times a day for 10 minutes each.

Avoid throwing, forcefully pushing or pulling anything as this can aggravate the chances of shoulder dislocation. If the muscles grow strong with a good Physiotherapy regime, surgery isn't indicated.

Usually once your muscles become strong you will feel a lot better. Eat healthy. Keep well hydrated. Exercise daily to keep fit.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Brief Answer:
Needs focussed shoulder strengthening

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

This could indicate that you have Atraumatic shoulder instability.

You need to focus on strengthening your shoulder muscles as I have mentioned earlier.

Nothing to worry about even though it may seem difficult to comprehend.

You will not feel these problems once your shoulder strengthening is done well. Kindly mention to your Gym instructor about the instability and the need to follow the mentioned exercises primarily of focus. The pain could be due to unfocused exercises which is straining your shoulder. Kindly follow the exercises and watch for a month. If no relief, kindly consult an Orthopaedician to examine you for any other issues with your shoulder which may need attention.

I hope I have answered your query.

Brief Answer:
Key hole surgery, 6 weeks rehab protocol after Capsular plication

Detailed Answer:
Hi the.

Your MRI isn't yet attached with your Questions. Kindly reconfirm.

Arthroscopic or key hole surgery is usually done by making small incisions over the shoulder and sending in scopes to perform the surgery. The procedure done is called Capsular plication to bring the lax, loose bag covering the shoulder joint together closer together so that it won't be innately to move around in anymore.

You will have to wear an arm sling for about 6 weeks. After this period and regular physiotherapy during this period, you can start to return to Gym ming and other activities.
