Question: My son experienced acute breathlessness almost 1 month back- it happened twice in a span of one week. He has this issue only if he is in Banaglore - out of Banaglore he never had such issues. He has started living in Banaglore after 4 years now. He is otherwise healthy and a Gym freak.

Brief Answer:
Sounds like pollution induced asthma

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I think he is facing some problems because of the asthma like condition.
The pollution in XXXXXXX may be triggering his symptoms more easily.
The breathlessness may result whenever he is in pollution, and sometimes even in early mornings or evenings when the smoke settles or is more dense.

The PFT report you have uploaded seems to confirm these finding too.

A regular bronchodilator inhaler and brochodilator tablets may help significantly. Use of a mask when in polluted region may help further.

Best of luck

Brief Answer:
treatment options discussed

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I think a mask would help him when he is travelling and facing the pollution
Also, a CT chest will be of help
It will help us know the lesions (if any) in the chest
A blood test (IgE) will also be helpful.

As for inhalers, he can try salbutamol rotahalers
He can try it initially on sos basis
If this does not help we can then make it regular

Best of luck
