Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

Kindly answer a few questions for me to be in a better position to help you.

Do you have burning pain in the central chest area?

Any nausea or vomiting?

Any difficulty breathing?

According to your history it appears that you may be suffering from Acid peptic disease or Oesophago-gastritis.

This occurs because the lining in your food pipe and stomach have probably been eroded and now they are very sensitive to acidic food like citrus fruits, hard food, hot food and fluids. It cab also get aggravated with smoking and drinking alcohol.

Kindly avoid the above mentioned food and substances. Drink yogurt and curds. Eat plenty of fresh fruits like Bananas, papaya, kiwi and green leafy vegetables. Drink 1-2 litres of water daily. You can take Syrup Sucralfate 2 teaspoons twice a day before food. Also you can take Tablet Rabeprazole with Domperidone combination which is very good to relief you of this pain. Take this tablet once a day in the morning half an hour before breakfast.

Try this for a week and if you find relief kindly continue this for 15 days. If the relief is not optimum, you may need a Upper GI endoscopic study to rule out stomach ulcer.

If you have shortness of breath with the pain, you should get an ECG done during the attack of pain and kindly consult a Cardiologist to rule out early symptoms of heart attack which can also cause similar complaints and needs to be ruled out urgently on this case.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Dr. Aashish Raghu
