Suggest Remedy For Pain And Pressure In Eye, Temple And Head

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jan 2016
Question: Hi, I experienced pain and pressure in my right eye, temple and slightly sharp pain leading to the back of the right side of my head. the pain was about a 3 or 4 out of 10 and dissipated quickly, however the pressure on the right side remains. I'm not sure if this should be something I should be concerned about, is it normal? I never experienced this before... Thanks! It's all on the right side, weird pressure also in the right side of the forehead.

I probably should mention, I'm studying a lot for a stressful exam (CPA) which is. I take 5mg of adderall when I study and haven't experienced problems before.

The pain subsided within 2-3 minutes. There is a lingering pressure that feels almost like sinus pressure and I feel a tad tired now.

I do have eye problems that I normally wear contacts for but haven't worn them in several months - which is what I suspected the frequent headaches I have results from. This one was just unusual.

Just trying to give you all the info you might need.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Multiple possibilities, need evaluation and management.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. unilateral headache with history of stress and use of adderall and reduced visual acuity could be attributed to all three. Stress can trigger headache. Adderall has an adverse effect of headache. Reduced visual acuity and not using lens for clear vision can also cause headache specially retroorbital one like in your case.

If you are not ADHD patient, avoid adderall just for your exams. It will add to the stress. take some xanax and follow a regular sleep pattern for at least 6 to 8 consecutive hours of sleep. Get evaluated any how by a doctor for the other causes of headache. But these three reasons are on top. Tension type headache and migraine can also e considered as a probability. Symptomatic treatment with tylenol and some antivert till you see your doctor for assessment and evaluation would suffice.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
