Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

Pain medication such as hydrocodone is well known to cause issues with constipation.

She may have developed a significant degree of gastroparesis related to long-term use of this particular pain medication.

I would recommend that you talk about a stab wish them a good bowel regimen with her primary care physician. Often times it is necessaryto use stool softeners once or twice daily. In addition fiber supplement may be necessary. Also sometimes doctors may recommend using a medication called Reglanto help improve the movement of solids through the gastrointestinal system.

Good hydration is also necessary to help alleviate some of the discomfort related to this particular issue.

Again please talk about this in detail with her primary care physician to help establish a regimen of support to help alleviate her discomfort.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
