Question: Hiii doctor. I ve underwent my 2nd ivf on XXXXXXX 21st with good gr 1 embryos. My betas came positive with appropriate doubling. I'm scheduled for a scan on Friday. Since yesterday I'm getting on and off ovulation type of discomfort on the left and occasionally right. It subsides when I lie down or stand. I have endometriosis and I'm told that I have cysts in my left ovary and my left ovary is adherent to my uterus. Is this pain due to endometriosis?

Brief Answer:
It can be due to endometriosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I think you may be having pain due to endometriotic cyst. It can also be due to the adherent ovary also as it is attached to uterus and uterus is enlarging due to pregnancy. So, it will have a stretching effect on ovary too as the ovary is adherent. So, you don't need to worry about it. Take up the scan as scheduled. If you have any spotting along with pain, consult your doctor immediately as implantation bleeding is very common in IVF pregnancies. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any other query, I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Scan is fine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I think scan is fine. You will not see a gestational sac until bhcg level crosses 1500 value. So, wait for the next scan. The cysts will be there as IVF was done and your ovaries were stimulated with injections. So, don't worry about the cysts. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any other query, I will be happy to help.

Sorry doc. My first scan after embryo transfer is due on this Friday. I was told about the cyst and ovary adherence to uterus before the transfer.
