Question: Fractured 3 ribs 3 and a half months ago. Pain and soreness back again. Normal?

Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

Usually rib Fractures are treated conservatively and they usually heal in 6-8 weeks.

If you are still having pain, it could be that the Fractures may not have United or other study tissue damage may be present.

Do get a fresh Xray of your chest and the old Xray needs to be compared with this one to look for fracture union.

Avoid taking deep breaths often. Apply hot packs or ice to the painful regions whichever gives you relief.

You can take Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days after meals and Tablet Ranitidine 150mg twice a day for 5 days before meals. Drink plenty of water.
