Question: ive been on birth control for 8 months and now would want to get pregnant. what should I do?I always had ad normal period, I would never get my period every month on the same date

Thanks for writing to us. I understand your concern.

You should stop taking birth control pills from next cycle and your fertility will regain or resume within 3 months.

You should try naturally and involve in unprotected sex from D12 to D18 of regular 28- 32 days cycle. You can use ovulation prediction kit in the middle of the cycle to maximize the chance of conception.

Follow this method for at least 6 months and give me feedback if you face irregular cycle following cessation of birth control pills.

all though my period were never regular, I should try 3 months after?is there anything I should take to ovulate regularly?

Thanks for your follow up query.

1) You should try to conceive from next cycle onwards during your highest fertile period and if your cycle is irregular, then I can suggest you to take progesterone pill like Duphaston etc from D16 to D25. It will help to regularize your cycle.

2) I suggest you to try naturally for initial 6 months before taking any kind of fertility treatment. Take vitamins and folic acid supplements for 3 months before conception.
