Question: I have had severe bruising that just appear. They are very purple and in random places...some on my side, breasts, back, and hand. What could be the problem? I have had no injuries but have severe esophagus spasm which make me throw up a lot.

Brief Answer:
need tests to assess clotting

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Random bruising can sometimes occur if there are problems with factors that affect clotting.

If you are using any medications that can increase the risk of bleeding such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen etc, then they may need to be discontinued after speaking with your doctor.

With a history of random bruising , you should consider testing of your platelet levels (a complete blood count would be done) and other parameters that affect clotting (PT. PTT, TT).

If these are abnormal then further tests would need to be done to assess the levels of specific clotting factors

It would best to see your doctor for assessment which would include physical examination and likely blood tests

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
