Suggest Reedy For Weight Loss

Question: I seem to have a lot of problems losing weight lately. My bloodwork shows my thyroid to be within normal range. I am 63 yrs old, female, and exercise for 45 min 3 times per week, to include aerobics, walking, and weight training. Recently I started on a medically supervised high protein and vegetable 800 calorie diet. At first I lost 6 lbs in a week, then 3 lbs, then 2, for a total of 17 lbs since August 12. The weight loss seems to be tapering, even with only 800 calories. Could there be other reasons I am not losing more? I do not take appetite suppressants. They keep me awake.

Brief Answer:
Need a break to raise BMR

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.

Weight loss usually includes low calorie intake and excess calories burning.
Along with that importantly the basal metabolic rate (BMR). It is ongoing normal metabolism in our body for body's basic energy production.

Low calorie intake over time, body senses it as starvation and suitably reduces overall body needs. BMR will reduce. So less burning and less reduction in weight.
You need to jolt body occasionally Every week or ten days with normal diet or take a break and start over again. BMR will be high and you can loose weight again.

What you are doing is good. Continue with a break.
Hope it helps.

Any further queries, happy to help again..
