Suggest Medication For Persistent Runny Nose In An Infant
It seems to be due to a harmless allergic reaction.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have carefully gone through the details that you have provided. Let me assure you that I do not find anything that could be a cause to worry about. The runny nose is due to an allergic reaction where cetirizine syrup is expected to provide relief. Just continue it for a few days and it should resolve. I do not think that you need to give Otrivin at this stage. Give it only if you feel there is a nasal congestion or block. In such a case you would also need to give Nasoclear Saline Nasal Drops to help in clearing the blockage.
In case of a child of this age, lethargy is the sign to look out for. Unless the child is lethargic, you need not worry. In case the child ever develops lethargy, be sure to rush him to a hospital without delay. If the child is otherwise active and fine, you may stay relaxed as it indicates that there is nothing to worry about.
Hope that clears your query.

Thanks for writing back.
3-2.5 ml of cetirizine (5 mg/5 ml) once a day is right to be given to your child.

Thanks for writing back.
Nebulisation with normal saline will provide relief for sore throat as well for cold. You may give it every 4 hours. Continue the other medicines as directed.

It seems to be a boil. Some topical antibacterial should help.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Good to know that the cough and cold has subsided. I have checked the attached image. It does not seem to be acne. Rather it seems to be a boil caused due to a bacterial infection. Apply T-Bact Ointment over it and soon it should subside.
Look out for any unexpected changes like fever, lethargy etc. In case such symptoms are seen, you would need to take the child to a doctor without delay as the boil lies in what is known as 'dangerous area of face' from where infection can spread to brain. I am just setting an alert for you. This does not actually mean that it is going to spread. All you need to do is to stay alert.
In case of acne when you apply toothpaste, it absorbs the oil and thereby provides relief. There is no problem if the same is done for young children.
