Question: I have a UTI . I've had one before and I am having the same or similar symptoms. Strong urge to pee burns a little pain in my lower tummy. I am leaving on vacation tomorrow and I need medication for this now. I have run out of time to see a nurse practitioner at CVS.

Brief Answer:
Nitrofurantoin is effective in treating UTI

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic which is usually very effective in UTI. 100 mg of it should be taken twice or thrice daily for 14 days. But it is a prescription medicine and I am not sure if you would be able to procure it without getting a doctor to write it down for you.
