Brief Answer:
weight too low.. need to assess diet

Detailed Answer:
Dear parent. I understand your concern.

In my experience such kids seem to have tonsil related issues or have history of prematurity or small head size.
Barring that height is not bad.. we expect 100 cm by four years. So lets worry about weight. His weight should have been close to twenty. If available please provide weight any time after age one year.
Weight is decided by diet- type and quantity. If a child takes low calorie diet ( as eating less fat and more fruits vegetables or more milk) or takes long time to meals (like in tonsil issues or constipation) child fails to gain weight.

So I suggest you to skip milk totally from diet and enrich diet with high calorie foods like butter, cheese, ghee, potatoes and rice based article. I will assume that he doesn't have any obvious or hidden disease like heart disease or say hyperthyroidism etc.

Please follow back if any additional info needes.
thanks.

Dear Doctor ,

Thank you so much for your reply .

We have never tested him for hidden diseases like heart disease or hyperthyroidism etc ..should we go for that?

Also one thing i would like to mention that ours is close relation marriage i.e. my hubby's mother and my father are siblings .

Diet can be a problem as I am working mother and out most of the times and he is taken care by maid . Current Diet as follows ..

Morning : 1 cup milk with Horlicks ,04 Almonds soaked overnight

Mid morning : Breakfast like idli /dosa ,Poha / Sheera , Thalipith .Boiled eggs were in winter season etc..

Lunch : 1 chapati with subji / 1 cup dal rice

evening : milk with biscuits / sometimes sheera ,thalipeeth etc .

Dinner : 01 Chapati with sabji / 1 cup dal rice

So please please suggest me tests which needs to perform to ensure no heart diseases /hyperthyroidism

Also please confirm your clinic address and timings if we can have appointment ..

Brief Answer:
relax.. no major issue

Detailed Answer:
Get rid of milk and almonds that is killing appetite. Replace by rice butter potatoes or eggs. No need to test at present for any disease. You did not comment on constipation if there may need treatment. You may come for consultation after skipping milk for two weeks.
