Suggest OTC Medicine For Severe Cough And Breathing Difficulty
Question: I am 19 yr old male. I have had a cold and now a deep cough and tighness in my chest. Having some difficulty breathing deeply. Looking for OTC to help ease tightness in my chest and breathing. Thank you!

Common cold is mostly due to viral infection. And your cough, chest tightness, breathing difficulty etc are mostly due to bronchitis which is common after viral upper respiratory tract infection like common cold.
So you will need inhaled bronchodilators like formoterol or salmeterol or ipratropium.
Short course of oral antibiotic like azithromycin will also be helpful.
Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.
If not improving within 3-4 days, better to consult your doctor.
