Brief Answer:
Levonorgestrel pill can help her

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I see that your friend has had sexual intercourse with her boyfriend, and is now scared about pregnancy.

If 72 hours has not elapsed since the time of the intercourse, she can take a single tablet of Levonorgestrel only pill like I pill.

If 72 hours has lapsed, then there is nothing much that can be done to prevent pregnancy.

Only other option would be to wait for her periods to occur on the date of expectation.

Further decisions can be taken depending on whether she gets her periods on time or not.

Hope this helps you.

Hi,

The medicine is available over the counter. You can ask for Levonorgestrel pill or Progesterone only pill or Emergency contraception pill.

You can purchase it at the pharmacy. You do not need a doctor's prescription for the same.

Brief Answer:
'wait and watch' is the ideal approach here

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Please understand that emergency contraceptive pill is effective only when taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse. After that, it has no use.

You have to wait for 1 week after missing a period to take a pregnancy test.

In case, she becomes pregnant, she can opt for medical termination of pregnancy, where in her doctor can prescribe her medicines to abort the baby.

However, 'wait and watch' is the ideal approach here.
