Hi,

Thanks for the query.

Well looks from your history that it could be bleeding from hemorrhoids or what is called as piles.

Hemorrhoids are of 2 types XXXXXXX and external, XXXXXXX usually cause painless bleeding covering stools not mixed with it and after passing stools especially stains the tissue when you wipe.
External piles or fissures usually cause painful bleeding though.
Also it is important if you have constipation or straining for stools, if yes then it precipitates this bleeding.

I think you should increase dietary fiber intake, have more fruits and salads in diet also increase your water intake to 3-4 litres per day.
At the same time avoid straining for stools and take some stool softeners like fiber supplements.

If still bleeding persists then it is better to consult for a proctoscopy and if required sigmoidoscopy, an examination of distal colon to look for the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. I will be happy to answer if you have any further questions

Regards

Thanks XXXXXXX ,

Since its only 5 days old, do you think i can wait for 10 more days before i go for tests like proctoscopy etc or consult a physician in person.

Other thing is i don't have constipation now (had it like week back but not now).
Rather after i saw blood in stool first time, since then my frequency of bowel movement has increased to 2 BM everyday, although stools are normal. Also, sometimes there is no visible blood in stools and sometimes its there (bright red in colour)

Also, wanted to ask if i can continue gym workouts or stop them for time being for few days.

Hello Mr. XXXXXXX

The constipation you had a week back likely is the source of problem. So ensure your stools to be soft and do not strain at all. You can take stool softeners like isapgula and liquid paraffin (available over the counter) for few days.

In case it persists for more than a week or bleeding increases, consult a doctor. You can go to gym but better to avoid heavy weights.

Thank you for the query. Hope I answered all your questions. Please use any answer clarification before closing and rating this answer. I will be happy to explain or expand on any issue you may have.

Wish you a speedy recovery.
