Brief Answer:
It's due to the I pill effect.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for the query through Health care magic.
I have read it & understand your concern,
I pill is a high dose hormonal preparation Levonorgestrne- combination of hormones estrogen & progesterone which are responsible for thickening of inner lining of uterus with blood vessels & at the end of cycles the hormones are withdrawn to cause shedding of inner lining,, we see this as menstruation.
Actually it was 1st day of menses ( so possibility of ovulation which falls in mid menstrual cycle ) & you had also used condom, so there was no possibility of conception. Still you took I pill ( which is an emergency contraceptive with same hormones ( which were withdrawn to cause bleeding ! Naturally the process of thickening inside resumed .. to cause break in bleeding.
So cool down.. you will have bleeding when the pill hormones are used up & withdrawn from your system. for a couple of months.
I would suggest to start cyclical oral pills after you get your periods this time . Please consult a gynecologist for selection of suitable pill for you.

Please be aware.. this would cause temporary irregularity in menses
I hope the answers your query. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any more queries.

Brief Answer:
Singke dose of emergency contraceptive causes temporary irregular periods

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Ipill is an emergency contraceptive pill..because of it's high hormone content it can prevent pregnancy by postponing ovulation. In your case, ovulation was not to happen at the time of sex.. and bleeding of menstruation had already started ,so the bleeding stopped..It would start again after withdrwal of hormones (once they get used up). There would be 8-10 days delay in your periods this time & subsiquent periods can get somewhat disturbed for a couple of months (due to hormonal imbalance caused by pill)
* I had advised cyclical hormonal contraceptives with double purpose.
1) It would help in contraception &avoid unwanted pregnancy in disturbed menses.
2) It would take care of the temporary hormonal imbalance caused by the ipill..
There won't be need of repeated use of emergency pill..which is likely to cause long standing hormonal imbalance/difficulty in conception when you wish for it.
You can stop using cyclical pills when you are planning a pregnancy ..taking all preconceptional care when you plan for a baby.
*please don't worry, taking I pill once in a while won't cause any serious issue. It's not likely to cause any long standing problem. You wont have any health ptoblem.. nor your body is going to be affected with the pills.
I hope that makes the thing clear.Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks
