Is It Safe To Apply Hydrogen Peroxide On Punctured Wound?

default
Posted on Tue, 18 Aug 2015
Question: Hi, I punctured my palm with a broken glass. I cleaned the wound with cold water and have determined that there isn't any glass in the wound. Presently I have wrapped my palm with ice. The bleeding has stopped. Is there a topical support h as hydrogen peroxide or benadryl that would help?

Brief Answer:
There is no need for that at this time!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am so sorry to hear about this accident. At this time, no drug is needed. My only concern is whether your vaccines are up to date especially against tetanus. If you are good, there is nothing else to be concerned about. Get some pain medications such as Tylenol/Ibuprofen and all will be fine. Also, you may want to send a picture of the wound to me for review.
