Is It Normal To Have Fever Post Immunization?

Question: My 6 year old had a round of immunizations yesterday ( she was behind). Dtp mmr and varicella. Fever 102 now. What to do? Worried its a bad reaction?

It is very common to get pain, redness or even fever after a dose of DPT vaccination.

It is due to reaction to the whole cell components of the vaccine.
Just give paracetamol and tepid sponging.
You need to keep the temperature in control and she would be OK in a day or two.
