Brief Answer:
yes person with personality disorder manifests problems with authority also

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to us.

From your question I understood that you are asking that problems with authority can be symptoms of personality disorder or not.

In general person with personality disorder has some pattern of behavior that does not fit in to normal. For person himself/herself it is normal while for others it is abnormal.

For example persons with borderline personality disorder have frequent disturbances in professional relationship. They make the strong bond with someone and after sometime with the same person relationship at its worst. They frequently suffered from anger outbursts and depression which affect their work. They blame the authority for their behavior.

Yes there is no specific medicine for personality disorder. It is difficult to treat. But person with personality disorder suffers from different psychiatric problems also alike depression, anxiety, anger outburst, substance use and for that they need medicines.
To treat personality disorder long term psychotherapy and good relationship with therapist are must.

If I could not understand your question please clarify and elaborate your query and also mention that which personality disorder you are talking.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Regards,

Dr.Chintan Solanki.

To answer your latest enquiry/question of which personality disorder have I been diagnosed with? To answer: multiple; namely: Dependent Personality Disorder/Borderline Personality Disorder and Emotionally Unstable Personality. What about dealing with change in life and dealing with people going on holiday temporarily or people off sick. I find these sorts of situations quite stressful. Is any of this anything to do with Personality Disorder?

Sorry to be a pain. If I get help/talking therapy can I get over my issues with dealing with people of authority, especially as it is connected with personality disorder?

Brief Answer:
yes psychotherapy can help in dealing with people

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for clarification.

You probably have dependent and borderline personality disorder (emotional unstable personality is same borderline).

Yes broadly symptom characteristics of both personality disorders lead to difficulty in dealing, relating and adjusting with other people. I can understand your situation and feelings of suffering. People with these problems do not cope up easily with changes in life.

Yes talking therapy/psychotherapy can help a lot in dealing with people including authority. Some basic requirements of this treatment are efficient therapist, good rapport between patient and therapist and patient's faith in therapist.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a specific type of cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy helpful in patients with borderline personality disorder.

You can discuss more with your treating doctor about the same. If your doctor does not have enough time he/she can refer you to someone else who can do such therapy.

Feel free to discuss further.
