Is Cloudy Urine A Symptom Of STD?

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Jun 2016
Question: Hi, Over the past few months I have noticed that my urine changes colour and goes milky/white. This can occur at the beginning, midstream or at the end. There is no strict pattern. There are days when I wont have this, but then other days where it occurs. I have been to my doctor and did a MSU which came back negative and I have also tested negative for STDs. I also sometimes get some white stuff, shown in the pictures. Do you have any idea what this might be?

Brief Answer:
Change in urine color is normal. Penile tip has prostatic secretion.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the change in the color of the urine and the discharge over the penile tip.

After analyzing the complete query let me reassure you that both the things are quire normal and natural and there is no correlation of any type of sexually transmitted infection in the same.

To tell you elaborately our urine color is dependent on the amount of liquids which we drink and the weather conditions. Whenever we drink less liquid or there is high heat outside the urine color becomes darker. In cold weather conditions as well as when we drink more liquids then the urine color is bit lighter or whitish.

So a change in color is not related to any sexually transmitted infection.
For the part of whitish discharge over penile tip: this appears to be related to the normal prostatic secretion. Prostate is a gland which secretes fluid which is a part of our semen. In case of young persons it is secreted in high amount and therefore we can get some part of this discharge seen on penile tip as whitish material.

Both of these things have got no correlation with any sexually transmitted infection. I suggest you to drink plenty of liquids and allay all your fears for any STDs. You can get further personalized guidance from an Urologist. I counsel many a patients of your kind of condition who actually gets more conscious after any incidence of sexual intercourse. They become more conscious after these kinds of incidences and start observing even a minor change in genital area or in terms of urine or seminal color or consistency. In your case it is totally normal and there is no abnormality. So relax for the part of any infection or related thing.

I hope this helps.

"Wish you good health and early recovery from the problem"
