Question: Hi,

I am observing black tarry stool now a days and i have no other symptoms. How should i proceed from here, Please guide me on this.

Black tarry stool indicates bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract.
Black stools also seen if you take iron supplements or Pepto bismol.

If you are passing black tarry stool and not taking iron supplements or Pepto bismol, then you need immediate medical attention.

You need to undergo upper GI endoscopy to know the cause of bleed.

I have been taking corn flakes which i think has some amount of iron, Can this be the reason for it ?

It has 1-2hpf pus cells is it normal ?
