Is Baby's Heartbeat Rate Of 199 At 10th Week Of Gestation Normal?

default
Posted on Wed, 11 Mar 2015
Question: I am 10 weeks and 3 days pregnant.
last week i had an ultrasound and the fetus' heart rate was 199. radiologist found nothing abnormal about the ultrasound but a high heart rate. doctor was extremely worried so he asked me to come in this week for another ultrasound again, the heart rate was 190-199 growth measuring on track.
after doctor got the report he called me and said while everything on the ultrasound looks normal he thinks i will lose the baby as it will soon go into heart failure as it just simply can't beat this hard and be sustained. do you agree with his prognosis?

Brief Answer:
it won't go into heart failure

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I can understand your concerns.

Baby heat rate at 10 weeks is high. Sometimes as high as 199.

It does not mean it will go into heart failure.

Heart rate goes down as your baby grows.

Just do monthly sonograms.

Do not take any stress

You can also do a fetal echo now to check for any heat defects in your baby
