Question: I was diagnosed with a Kidney Infection (urine tested positive for e-Coli) on or around 1/14/15 (never had one before), pain in back and stomach, was placed on 7 day Cipro. After starting antibiotics had two nights of extremely high fever (104). Felt a lot better after three days on antibiotics. 1/27/15 several hours after waking up was itching rash on my right arm, as the week progressed the rash has expanded to both my forearms, armpits, breasts, upper stomach and behind knees and back. Went to see a dermatologist on 2/4/15 who said it was Scabies. Treated me and my daughter (who to date has shown no signs of anything) for Scabies. I must mention that also on 1/27/15, I found a bat in my bedroom above my bed that appeared sickly and I pushed out the window. (third bat in living quarters in six week time, after second bat daughter and I underwent rabies Vaccinations which last dose was 12/31/15.)
The night of 2/5/15 noticed what appeared to be a animal bite mark on my left upper hand. (two pin size puncture wounds that had been the same size about one centimeter apart already scabbed over) Concerned it may have been an actual bat bite and the rash was some kind of reaction to it went to ER. Was told yes it appeared to be an animal bite (although they could not confirm what kind) and my rash was not Scabies rather looked like some sort of allergic reaction. Was given Predisone for five days.
2/18/2015: Rash is still evident however has dissipated a bit. Still concerned so call my GP, he refers me to a Infectious Disease Doctor. She says that it appears to be an allergic reaction as well and to return in two weeks.
I am 38 yrs old, 180lbs, 5' 3". Have a genetic Nephritis, and have since birth. have microscopic blood and small amount of protein in urine. Father has had full blown kidney disease with two transplants.
Was wondering if it was far-fetched to assume that this rash may have something to do with the Kidney Infection I had the beginning of January? and if I need to follow up with Nephrologist?

Thank you for your response. I was just concerned being the rash appeared 7 days after finishing cipro and also that it has lasted over three weeks so far.
