Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that as you are experiencing atrial fibrillation (persistent or recurrent paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, whichever it is) there is a moderate-high risk for stroke, because you are a female and hypertensive and are qualified as CHA2DS2-VASc score of 2.

In such case Aspirin would not be sufficient for protection from cardio-embolism events. Instead, anti-coagulation would be appropriate.

But, if you have just experienced an isolated episode of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and no obvious triggering factors for recurrences exist, then probably Aspirin would be enough for such a purpose.

You need to discuss with your attending doctor on the above mentioned issues.

Hope you will find this answer helpful.

In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
