Brief Answer:
It may take 6 months to an year but depends upon multiple factors

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic!

First of all it would have been appreciable if you had shared the reason that why do you want to have castration in first place at such young age? It is important to know if the issue relates to any personality or identity issues or you being not comfortable to sexual desires or is it due to some other cause? It would be good of you to seek advice of a counselling psychologist and have a detailed discussion over your issues. CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy) and other therapies may also prove to be helpful.

But if there is a solid medical reason or if you have already discussed and finalised the issue then you can continue using these medications. Exact time for complete castration is very difficult to establish as it may vary with genetic and racial factors and your hormone reserves. Normally the effects start to ensue or set in over the period of months and are not observed promptly. You can discuss all these issues with an endocrinologist and have regular follow ups and hormone levels from time to time to monitor the effects of drugs. Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.

thanks for your detailed answer. I am not comfortable with sexual desires and sexual arousal triggers OCD in me. I am Asian. I am shy to discuss this in person with a doc and that's why I am asking here. thanks

Brief Answer:
You can try treating OCD rather castrating yourself.

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Thanks for sharing your concerns in detail and showing your confidence in us. You need to understand few facts here. Castrating yourself will not only cause decreased sexual desires in you but may lead to permanent infertility and many other metabolic disorders as well, because testes produce certain essential hormones needed at various endocrinological processes in your body. Also that it can affect your identity in many bad ways. I would suggest you to discuss all these in detail with an endocrinologist and a psychologist. I can understand your fears and your shyness regarding discussing these with a doctor live, but you need to understand that it is your health which we are talking about and that of course is more important than all other issues. You need to overcome your fears this much that you can approach a clinical psychologist and I am sure that one or two sessions will help you omit your fears and you will feel more comfort discussing about those. Meanwhile try discussing other measures with him to control your OCD rather than punishing yourself like this. Hope this has helped you a bit. if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. You can approach me through my profile any time in furture in case of any more queries. Best regards.
