Dear Ms,

Internal bruising or hematoma takes 3 to 6 weeks for complete resolution and absorption. The exact course will depend on following factors

1. Severity of trauma

2. Organ involved

3. Quantity of hematoma

4. Pre-existing illness

5. Nutritional status

It would be very helpful if you could provide me with the following additional information

1. Kindly provide me details of impact and speed of car

2. Where is the location of internal brusing

3. Do you have any other associated symptoms like nausea/vomiting/ lack of energy?

4. Have you resumed your normal activities?

5. Kindly provide me the reports if available with you

They just kept saying my tissues were badly damaged particularly my liver. I do not know what speed I was going. I still keep feeling worse instead of better. I can't get in to see a dr for another 2 weeks. I can't even get out of bed the pain is so bad.
One more major thing. I have type 2 diabetes. Help!

Brief Answer:
Analgesic will help relieve pain

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms

It is likely to be Liver Hematoma( blood clotting into the matter of Liver). The hematoma takes 3 to 6 weeks for complete absorption. As there is usually stretching of Liver capsule its likely to result in pain, in the absence of underlying fever and loss of appetiite there is no cause for concern.

Initial management includes bed rest and restriction in activities during initial 1-2 weeks after trauma. Later on every effort should be made to resume routine activity like brushing, nature's call, small walk at home. I would suggest you the following

1. Analgesic like Ibuprofen will provide much needed relief from pain

2. Slowly mobilize yourself off the bed, a small walk or sitting outside in the garden will be helpful. It releases Endorphins and inturn helps relieve pain. Also lack of physical activity in type 2 Diabetis will hamper the sigar control

3. Consume plenty of oral fluids: Ensure water intake of 2-3 liter a day

4. Ensure intake of fiber in diet: Consuming food rich in fibre also helps in control of sugar in diabetis. 2 servings of vegetable salad and 2 servings of fruits especially citrus fruits wil help in ensuring adequate intake of fibre in diet. Also citrus fruits contain Vitamin C which helps in healing.

5. Local application of Hot water fomentation at site of pain will also help relieve pain

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.
