Brief Answer:
Please confirm pregnancy by doing home pregnancy test

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Having unprotected sexual intercourse at any time of the cycle might cause a pregnancy and because she is having irregular periods, she is not protected from a pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse.

2. It is best to do home pregnancy test at least 15 days from sexual intercourse to confirm pregnancy accurately. Since you had sexual intercourse on 15 February, which is more than 15 days back, she can take home pregnancy test now and confirm the pregnancy. It will be more than 97 percent accurate if done now.

3. If she has been having irregular periods, she should get an ultrasound scan pelvis done and consult a gynecologist for treatment of irregular periods. She might have a medical condition.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
It is a urine test done using a test kit available at the pharmacy

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. Home pregnancy test is done using pregnancy test kits available at pharmacy or medical store. A popular name is PregaNews. It contains a card and a dropper in the package. One has to put 3 drops of urine over a circular area on the card. Then after 5 minutes the result is read out.

2. After 5 minutes, if 2 pink lines appear, the result is positive. The result is by the appearance of lines on the card. Please see package insert for detailed information.

3. This test is more than 97 percent accurate when done at least 15 days after probable unprotected sex.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
