Question: Hi, I’ve been experiencing symptoms for about a month now following a very stressful phase in my career. These symptoms include abdominal discomfort, has, bloating, loud bowel sounds, alteration between constipation and loose watery stools, mucus in stool, black spots in stool, red spots in stool (I can’t tell if this is blood or undigested food), white coating on tongue, acid reflux, fatigue, anxiety and depression, and now most recently am inflamed hemorrhoid. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated. Additionally I’ve just been diagnosed with a bulging disk in my cervical spine.

No tests have been conducted at this time. I am not taking any medication currently but the past few months i have been prescribed 800mg ibuprofen, 500mg acetaminophen, and most recently naproxen all for back pain. I have not taken any of those prescriptions habitually, only as needed.

Brief Answer:
Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You have five issues, many of which are mostly likely to be functional due to the stressful life you have.

1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease
2. Dyspepsia
3. Irritable bowel syndrome
4.Hemorrhoids
5. Cervical spondylosis

For gastroesophageal reflux disease and dyspepsia, you can take Omeprazole. Check your blood glucose levels.
You have mixed type of irritable bowel syndrome. You can take fiber supplements and high fiber diet.
If the hemorrhoids are smaller in size, taking care of your bowel movements is enough. If they are big enough, then they may have to be removed by surgery.
For cervical spondylosis, in addition to the pain killers you take, physical therapy would be helpful.

Since stress would be worsening most of these issues, stress relief methods like meditation would be helpful.
Regards,
Dr.R.K
