Question: Hello Doc, Symptoms : Frequent urination and foul smelling vagina. What could be the reason ? Ongoing for nearly 2 months. Planning to take Ciproflaxcin. BTW this is for my girlfriend.

Thanks Doctor. BTW metronidazole was tried for 7 days (twice a day) from Jun 9 to 15. So if there was a vaginal infection (like BV or Trich) that would have cleared up right ? So in this case it could be an UTI, isn't it ? Also can yeast infection have similar symptoms, since at this point we are only treating with antibiotics.
How long she should take Ciproflaxcin ? is 7 days (1 tablet a day) good enough ?

Thanks for writing again.
If she has taken metrogyl then it is not vaginosis. Fungal infection has itching with white discharge. This is more likely to be a urinary infection. She needs to take ciprofloxacin twice a day for at least 7 days for relief.
