Have Been Post-menopausal, Experience Some Very Light Bleeding For A Few Days. Ultrasound Showed Small Fribroid.
Question: Hi. I have been post-menopausal for a few years now, am 57 years old. Occasionally I experience (no more than once a year) some very light bleeding for a few days. I had an ultrasound several years ago which showed I have a small fribroid. I am wondering whether this is bleeding sometimes. I am under a lot of stress as my husband is slowly dying of Motor Neurone Disease.

Firstly you need to know that after you have achieved menopause,no amount of bleeding is normal.Even if you have a small fibroid,after menopause, it should shrink and not cause any bleeding as its estrogen linked. You should have another ultrasound, ti check for uterine size,endometrial thickness and adnexa. Unless proper investigations are done, the correct diagnosis cannot be made. Its important that malignancy be ruled out.
