hi doctor i had protected sex with massage girl in pattaya ,after sex i noticed cuts on my groin area on th fold between the thighs n testicals. I got test 5 weeks n 7 weeks by sd biolne 3.0 n tridot test both negitive shold i test more or is conclusive that i am negitive .its been 8 weeks now n i have mild fever running nose n sore throat .iam uncicumsized but did use a cndom properly all m concernd with the cuts

The tests that you have got done is a rapid HIV test which uses a blood sample or oral fluids and is easy to be done. This should be followed by a Western blot and PCR (viral load test) which can identify HIV in the blood within two or three weeks of infection.

Otherwise you can also get an ELISA test done which is more specific than these tests. However these tests may show accuracy after 6 weeks to 6 months as HIV antibodies take time to develop in the body. So get repeat tests done after 6 months to completely clear the status of HIV if you are apprehensive regarding the status. From your history if you had used the condom properly then chances of HIV are less likely.

Sore throat, fever and running nose can be due to viral infection. For the same, use an over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever). But these are to be used for 5-7 days at a time.
If you have fever then you may need Tylenol and a course of antibiotics as well ( if bacterial infection is suspected).

However the best treatment is steam inhalation and doing gargles. Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the buildup of mucus in your nose. You may also find that adding some menthol crystals, or eucalyptus oil, to the water helps a lot. Other than that, avoid eating indigestible, spicy, foods and meats and eat simple wholesome foods. Out-of-door exercise, sunbaths and swimming also help a lot.

Cuts on the thighs are most likely due to chafing. Follow these methods for a quick relief from these cuts:

1)     Wear cotton clothes and underwear and avoid wearing any coarse or synthetic material. When doing exercise wear athletic tights or cycling shorts.
2)     Wear clean and dry clothes and use a mild detergent to wash them. Dried sweat, chemicals, dirt, and other debris may aggravate the condition.
3)     You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin.
4)     Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories after a prescription from your doctor are helpful.
