Brief Answer:
Please wait till blisters have dried up

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

Chickenpox is most infectious from one to two days before the rash starts, until all the blisters have crusted over (usually five to six days after the start of the rash). Basically you may wait till all the blisters have crusted and dried.

Coming to your daughters vaccination, the chicken pox vaccine is given in two doses. A child should have the first shot at ages 12-18 months. The second shot should be given at ages 4-6 years. Older children and adults should have two shots, with four to eight weeks between the first and second shot.

Wishing you good health.

Hope your query is answered.

Brief Answer:
Not infectious after scabs are formed

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing back with an update.

It is safe to move about once the blisters have dried and scabs have formed (which is what I suppose you mean by black coating). It is no longer infectious past this stage, but make sure you have no more blisters in which scabs are yet to form. Please do no try to remove the blisters and scabs by yourself and allow then to fall off naturally.

Wishing you good health.

Hope your query is answered.
