Brief Answer:
can use for a short period of time

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Timodine ointment contains a mixture of dimethicone (a moisturizer), benzalkonium (an antiseptic), nystatin (an anti fungal) and hydrocortisone (a steroid medication).

It does not contain an agent to fight bacterial infections (an antibacterial).
The antiseptic part may help to prevent an infection from occurring if none is present at the moment but it would not treat if an infection is already present.

If the wound is pink and appears relatively healthy then you can consider using it for a few days (no more than three because of the steroid)

If it appears infected (warm, painful, discharge, increasing redness), then you may need a topical or oral antibiotic from your doctor

I hope this helps , feel free to ask any other more questions
