Does Prostate Infection Cause Back Pain?

default
Posted on Fri, 6 Oct 2017
Question: Im nervous about my prostate bc i have back, hip, and thigh pain. I'm 42, negative DRE, and a PSA of less than 2.0 (1.4 I believe). My urologist thinks i need to stop worrying. What more can i do or should i just assume the back pain is unrelated?

Brief Answer:
Your back ache is not due to Prostate infection .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

You have varied symptoms like back ache ,pain in hip joints and thigh pain and you are suspecting these problems to be due to Prostatitis.

I shall be happy if you can post me more details to help me in making precise comments
1) Do you have other urinary symptoms like burning urination ,pain in penis ,perineal pain ,painful ejaculation which are typically due to prostate problem ?

In absence of any of these symptoms and negative DRE your hip joint pain, thigh pain could be due to any orthopedic problem which needs to be looked in to .

I would suggest you to consult qualified Orthopedic surgeon for clinical examination and get the relevant investigations done under his guidance .

Practicing Yoga and back exercises may help to relieve your symptoms .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
