Does Lipoma Cause Lung Or Back Pain?
Question: Hi, on my lower right side I have a large lipoma, about the size of a tangerine. It's been hurting for about a month and a half. Now I'm noticing that my right lung has intermittent stinging/sharp pain in the mid section in the back and also on the right side of my lung. Could they be from the lipoma? The pain is about an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. I went to my doctor Friday and he's scheduled a MRI but for my lumbar area. It doesn't feel like a spinal thing.

a lipoma is usually superficial, can cause local pain (surgery possible), but normally does not cause lung or back pain. If you feel like you are having pain in the lung area talk to your doc about a lung x ray in addition to the mri. Also an Ultrasound of the kidneys is advisable since the pain could also come from there.
