Question: Since Child wood my child got seizures during that found heavy fever and he had treatment first valparin 100mg up to 3 years, Even not yet cured So doctor told us to take MRI on 3 rd or 4 of age during the 2 nd or 3rd attempt of seizures and nothing doctor informed to us and told us to continue with KEPPRA 100 mg one gradually increased dosage up to 200mg twice day. continue up to 2years the same and finally doctor took the EEG and confirmed he was alright told and gradually intimated us to stop the dose during the age of 7 yrs old(JAN 2015). Once stopped gradually my child was normal until one year, Now 2016 March 1st week again during the bathing we notice seizures slightly without fever.
So we have went to neurologist for further treatment in the regard to my child, Now doctor advised us to take TOPAMAC 50mg tablet which gradually to be increased up to 50mg X2 per day. Past my child is undergoing with the above treatment and during the treatment we are facing body temperature slightly observed in my child and last day we notice heavy fever which was controlled, no slipping in the night and activities are changed. Brief Answer:
Needs topamac for 2 years seizure free

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I have seen the attached reports.
Definitely EEG is abnormal which suggests he has epilepsy or seizure disorder.
MRI is normal as you mentioned, so there is no structural problem in brain.
It is because of abnormal signals which come from brain that cause seizures.
You need to continue topamac as advised.
Some kids may need more dose which has to be decided by your neurologist over next 6 weeks. Review with him, if seizures show no improvement he will increase dose gradually.
Treatment is correct, follow up frequently.
For fever you need to get blood tests done as it is there for a week.
Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
