Does Diverticulitis Cause Intestinal Bleeding?

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Aug 2017
Question: I have had a bloated belly for almost two years, I have had major intestinal bleeds and I have had infections on my feet for over 2 and a half years. I have had MRI's, cat scans, colon check, etc. I have had every test known to man and they found nothing. I have a round buldge in my belly and it looks bruised at times. The last two months I have the feeling like someone punched me in the gut. Well a few days ago I had acute pain just under my left rib. I had a greenish mucus with some blood come out of my intestines for the last few days. I feel so much better. My waist went down 4 inches. So I am thinking I had a cyst they never detected. Will it clear up on it's own now? The last time I had a major bleed was in December 2016. I took some herbs which helped stop the bleeding. The gastrenologist said I would bleed more and more and when it bleeds once a month the will remove my intestines. I have been very limited on what I was able to do, any use of my arms that caused muscle pressure in my belly really hurt and I couldn't breath well. When I went to the hospital the ct scan never showed where the bleed was coming from. Thy just told me I was full of poop and gas. I will be 65 years old in Sept. Where do I go from here?

Water pill is for feet when they swell from infection. Something took place where I lost 4 inches in two days off my waist after the acute pain. I had consulted every kind. of doctor for my feet. this seems to be a waste of money. What about the hardness of my abdomen and the bruising. Why is their relief after the acute pain went away? why do I feel better after all this time. Nothing wrong with my thyroid.

Brief Answer:
All details provided for queries .

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the details with x-rays herewith .

* Abdominal hardness is more in relation with loaded colon as seen in x-ray .
Bruising has to be evaluated with some parameters separately .

* Pain relief after acute pain is relief of intestinal twisting from diverticulitis or
other .

* Best relief of abdomen would be with dietary management with high fiber ,
plenty of liquids , avoidance of said items intake .

* For foot issue , apart from local care , foot elevation over 3 - 4 pillows when
resting will be helpful for sure .

Welcome for further assistance .

Wishing you fine health ahead .

Regards .

So the big ball in the picture is a loaded colon not my stomach? The measurement on the large one is 8 inches by 41/2 inches in size.

Brief Answer:
That portion is intestines with stool and gas components.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

* Big ball with dark areas is depicting stool matter along with gas in the intestines,
not stomach.
* This is mainly suggestive of digestive weakness.

Regards.
