This drug has high potency of dependency

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,

Thank you for your Query.

First of all I would like to tell you that this drug which you are taking at present has high potency of dependency as compared to other benzodiazepines but not always if you follow doctor's advice.
Xanax like medication you need to prescribe for low dose and for short period of time.

I would like to tell you there are many medications which is useful for panic attacks without dependency profile and has very good result in panic attacks like Clonazepam, tofisopam, opipramol, etizolam, etc and also Anti anxiety drugs like Desvenlaflexine, venlaflexine, paroxetine, bupropion etc which has least side effects and dependency profile.

I would suggest you not to take such high dose of xanax as in such high dose it has dependency more and also there are many other good option available for panic attacks.
Zoloft is good medication fro anxiety and panic and you can take it with melatonin 5 mg with out any problem.
Yes you need to consult psychiatrist for detail history and proper treatment of panic attacks regarding tinnitus.
According to me panic attacks secondary to tinnitus you need not to take anti anxiety medication for a long time.
You need to take it for short period of time or up to your tinnitus is cured.

Thank you.
