Can The Use Of Amoxicillin Cause Anxiety?
Question: I started taking amoxicillin 500mg. on Tuesday for a tooth infection and I notice I now have more anxiety I take Clonazepam. Mirtazapine, Norvasc and Ziac and Lipitor and also Vitamin D3. Could the Amoxicillin cause me to feel more anxious? Please advise.
Brief Answer:
No!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Amoxicillin has no impact on these medications and is not known to cause or worsen anxiety. My thinking is that the tooth infection is rather the cause of this worsening anxiety and not the amoxicillin. I will say you continue with the drugs and if after the infection is controlled this anxiety continues, then get the anxiety medications increased.
I hope this helps. Let me know what your take is. If you need more information or clarifications, kindly request and I will gladly do so.
