Hi,

Soma contains carisoprodol which belongs to the group of medications known as skeletal muscle relaxants is used in the treatment of muscle pain and discomfort by blocking the pain sensations between the nerves and the brain. Soma should be used for short term only because of its habit forming properties. Carisoprodol preparation like Soma can develop addiction like benzodiazepines, according to Current Drug Abuse Reviews. After breaking down in the body, Soma can produce a metabolite that is known as Meprobamate, which can be addictive. For the sedative and relaxation effects of Soma, people usually abuses this medication. As addiction deepens, you may require higher doses of Soma than your dose to feel a high. For its addictive nature, this medication should be taken as directed by your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
